Meet Rosie: Supporting Farmers Beyond the Balance Sheet

At Ai Services, success is often measured in genetics, performance, and innovation, but behind the scenes, it’s people like Rosie who help keep everything running smoothly. As part of our Breeding Excellence series, which shines a light on the individuals driving the business forward, Rosie’s story is one of experience, adaptability, and above all, relationships.
Rosie serves as Group Credit Controller, overseeing credit control across both Ai Services and Eurogene. Alongside this, she manages the Liquid Nitrogen Delivery Service, a critical operation that supports more than 2,500 farms across Northern Ireland. It’s a role that blends financial oversight with hands-on coordination, ensuring customers receive both the service and support they need.
Having joined Ai Services nine years ago, Rosie brought with her over two decades of experience in the public sector, including her time as Assistant Examiner to the Northern Ireland Official Receiver. That depth of experience has proven invaluable in navigating credit management within the business.
But if there’s one thing Rosie is quick to point out, it’s that no two days are ever the same. Her role spans reviewing credit accounts, speaking directly with customers to resolve payment queries, organising liquid nitrogen delivery schedules, and working closely the various teams across the company. At the same time, she provides regular performance insights to management while continually refining processes and ensuring consistency across the business.
For Rosie, it’s this variety and the challenge it brings, that makes the job so rewarding. “I really enjoy the problem-solving side of the role,” she explains. “Whether it’s resolving a query, improving a process, or working with customers and colleagues to find practical solutions, there’s always something new to tackle.”
Yet credit control, she believes, is often misunderstood. Far from being just about managing payments, Rosie sees it as a vital part of building and sustaining strong customer relationships. “It’s about creating trust and ensuring customers come back time and again,” she says. “Even in difficult times, it’s about supporting them where we can.”
That approach is deeply personal. Being married to a farmer gives Rosie a unique perspective on the realities of the agricultural industry, the pressures, uncertainties, and cyclical nature of farm life. It allows her to approach conversations with empathy and understanding, particularly when customers face challenges. “Open communication is key,” she notes, acknowledging that discussions can sometimes be difficult.
Her philosophy is simple but powerful: “People pay people they like.” While credit control may not always make her the most popular person in the room, Rosie knows that strong, trusted relationships are the foundation of success, not just for her role, but for the business as a whole.
That same commitment to relationships, she believes, is what underpins Ai Services’ loyal customer base. With decades of experience across the team, and a deep understanding of the agricultural sector, Ai Services provides more than just products, it offers guidance, support, and expertise at every stage. “There’s a real focus across the business on helping our customers succeed,” she says.
And while the role carries plenty of responsibility, there’s no shortage of lighter moments along the way. Working closely with farmers and technicians ensures that every day brings something new and often, something memorable. One story still makes Rosie smile: “A farmer once told me he remembered my name because he had a cow called Rosie.”
It’s a light-hearted moment, but one that captures the essence of Rosie’s role; personal, grounded, and built on genuine connection.
