Principal Group Scientist, Dr Debbie McConnell, appointed

AI Services is delighted to announce the appointment of Dr Debbie McConnell as Principal Group Scientist.
Debbie brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the AI Services Group, having worked across research, within industry and on commercial farms within the UK and ROI livestock sector for the past 11 years.
She comes to us from Lakeland Dairies (AgriBusiness Division), having previously held senior research positions at the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (Agriculture Branch) and the Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (Dairy division).
Debbie has been actively involved in her family’s dairy, beef & sheep farm over the past 20 years, and is a member of the British Grassland Society, Ulster Grassland Society and the British Society of Animal Science. A keen runner, she has represented Northern Ireland at the British Athletics Inter-counties Mountain Running Championships in 2021 (awarded Team Bronze) and 2022, and was a silver team medal winner in the N.I. & Ulster Marathon Championship in both years.
Debbie will take up her position with AI Services on 1st August 2023, based predominantly at Ballycraigy, but working across the whole group. Her proven track record, together with her keen interest in breeding and genetics, and her passion for the livestock industry will make Debbie a significant asset to the AI Services Group, and we look forward to welcoming her to the Company.
